The “We Sing for Peace” concert was one of the most meaningful projects we undertook in 2022, intertwining solidarity, art and humanitarianism in support of children affected by the war in Ukraine who found refuge in Albania. Talented Albanian and Ukrainian children came together on stage to sing to peace.
Even though helping children diagnosed with cancer in Albania is one of our main goals, our mission at its core is to support as many children as possible in Albania and the world.
The war in Ukraine is a current global crisis that has devastating effects on the Ukrainian people, including children. In response to this, “Children for Children” organized a concert for children affected by the war in Ukraine with the purpose of achieving three main goals:
- Fulfilling Children for Children’s mission of encouraging children to help other children, and thus building a better, more compassionate and collaborative young generation,
- Conveying a message of solidarity to children victims of war in Ukraine, illuminating that children around the world, and in particular Albanian children, stand together with Ukrainian children,
- Raising funds in order to financially help children who have not only lost any semblance of a normal life, but also their homes and personal belongings.
Financial donations were collected at the Credin Bank account: 00001714520.
Through the voices of Albanian and Ukrainian children and your generosity, we were able to raise 198,500Lekë. The collected funds were used in aid of 14 children from 5 Ukrainian families that were forced to stay in Albania unexpectedly during the 2022 winter. It was an honor to witness these families’ strength and commitment to living a good life during those difficult times, and we thank them for showing us that resilience and kindness can help us face any challenge, including one as horrible as war.
We would like to express our gratitude for those who donated to this cause, as well as all of our project partners!
