The foundation “Children for Children” or “Fëmijët për Fëmijët” is a Non-Profit Organization registered in the District Court of Tirana, Albania, N° 453, on April 30th, 2014 with headquarters in the city of Tirana.
This organization was founded to support the initiative taken by Vasia and Aleksia Barka in aid of children diagnosed with cancer in Albania who lose their hair due to their treatment with chemotherapy. With the goal of supporting these children psychologically and emotionally, “Children for Children” donates ventilated wigs with donated, unprocessed hair and implements various projects at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center, Tirana, Albania. Even though helping children diagnosed with cancer in Albania has been one of our main goals since our establishment, our mission at its core is to support as many children as possible in Albania and the world. Given this, starting in 2022, “Children for Children” has expanded its activity to help children belonging to different marginalized communities. Another mission of ours is to involve Albanian children and youth as leaders, volunteers, entrepreneurs, organizers and donors, in projects that support children diagnosed with cancer and those belonging to marginalized groups in Albania.
