Hair and Wig Donation

Note: Given the great number of hair donated to us and a smaller need for wigs from the kids receiving care at the at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department at  “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center, Tirana, Albania, we have suspended the hair donation process starting on January 1, 2023 for an unknown period of time.

Information for interested hair donors

Donated hair must meet the following criteria:

  1. The hair should be unprocessed (never dyed before).
  2. The minimum length is 26cm, but the greater the hair length, the better.
  3. Before cutting, the hair should be washed and dried well.
  4. When cutting, the hair should be divided into three or more parts, depending on the density of the hair. These parts should be secured tight with elastic bands, and their length should be measured with a ruler to check whether at least the required minimum length (26cm) can be reached.
  5. After being certain that the length meets the criteria, each part should be cut above the elastic holding the hair, so that it remains held by the elastic even after the cut.
  6. Note that hair with a length of under 26 cm does not serve the purpose for which you are donating. Given that the hair grows 1 to 1.5cm per month, each donor should wait for their hair to grow to the required length and then proceed with cutting to donate for this cause.

All those interested in donating their hair who need further assistance with this process, are welcomed to contact us in any of the addresses listed under Contact Us.
